Maggie Baker is the District Office Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter, 2026.

Maggie serves as the District’s Community Relations Coordinator (CRC). In this role, Maggie has done an excellent job providing essential communication to the public, press, municipalities, legislators, and other stakeholders.

On a routine basis, Maggie is contacted at all hours of the day to issue critical press releases on construction projects, roadway closures, and incident notifications. Maggie is always available and quickly responds to the request to provide crucial information to the traveling public, including emergency flood events and winter weather storm impacts. This information is integral in ensuring the District has overall situational awareness of events.

Maggie leads the annual legislative contact effort and media outreach meetings held each spring, to present the upcoming construction season projects’ details including locations, estimated costs, and impacts to traffic.

Maggie took a lead role in getting the county outreach meetings organized in 2023. These meetings were held between district employees and municipal officials and are now held annually. Maggie also coordinates the district press and sign unveiling events that have been positively recognized by the public.

Maggie has also taken a proactive approach to informing the public and PennDOT employees of our maintenance operations. Maggie took the lead on developing articles on the science of winter, our regional paving crew efforts, and maintenance equipment. She has coordinated with the press for winter service ride-a-longs and coordinated with a local television station to feature articles about line painting operations and PennDOT career paths.

Maggie has further undertaken a proactive approach to photograph and video record garage and maintenance operations to improve overall awareness of the work our employees complete.

Maggie has been a PennDOT employee for six years and has been with the Commonwealth for 23 years.

Starting at $2.99/week.
