PHOTO PROVIDED BLaST IU17 recently held their first Para-Educators Conference.

On Aug. 10, BLaST IU17 held their first Para-Educators Conference at Loyalsock Township High School. More than 180 paraprofessionals, teachers and educators from 10 school districts in the IU 7 region attended the event.

The event’s morning keynote featured the video, “The Family Perspective,” which documented the journey of two families who each are raising a child with special needs. The video is available on the BLaST IU17 Facebook page.

The event also featured 13 breakout sessions throughout the day and a closing session in the afternoon. Presenters included agency providers, teachers and administrators from the Intermediate Unit and School Districts.
