September Students of the Month: Montoursville High School

Montoursville Area High School congratulates Melissa Reeder and Matthew Conklin for being chosen as September Students of the Month for the Warrensville Lions Club.

Melissa Reeder, daughter of Mary DiFuccia and Christopher Reeder, has been involved with theater arts club, president; International Thespian Honor Society, president; concert choir, president; gender sexuality alliance, board member; National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and the Ville Harmonic Vocal Ensemble. She volunteers and acts with the Williamsport Community Theatre League and she volunteers at the Lycoming County SPCA. After high school, she plans to attend college for elementary education.

Matthew Conklin, son of Kristine and Jeff Conklin, has been involved in baseball; football; basketball; Key Club, Sgt. of Arms; Future Business Leaders of America, historian; student government, National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and National English Honor Society. He has volunteered with projects of the South Williamsport Lions Club, Upward Church Football, Youth Football, Faith United Methodist Painting Project, Central PA Food Bank and Montoursville Kiwanis. After high school, he plans to attend a four-year college to study business.

Montoursville Area High School also congratulates Christian Smith and Jaeda Smith for being chosen as September Students of the Month for the Montoursville Lions Club.

Christian Smith, son of David and Wendy Smith, has been involved in the following school activities: academic decathlon, captain; band; choir; PMEA District and Regional Choir; musical theater; Rho Kappa, president; Key Club; National Honor Society, historian; Mock Constitutional Convention; and Model UN. In his community, he is a member of the Montoursville Presbyterian Church, where he participated in the youth group, church choir and as the church’s technical assistant. After high school, he plans to attend college or university to study political science and economics.

Jaeda Smith, daughter of Jennifer Smith Joseph, has been involved in Key Club; Science National Honor Society; English National Honor Society; Rho Kappa, vice president; and Student Government, vice president. She is also the chair of the Warrior Pal Program. After high school, she plans to go to college with hopes to major in history.
