Loyalsock Township Students of the Month: Sept. and Oct.
Loyalsock Township High School announced their students of the month for September and October. Gianna Marie Rupert and Megan Lowe were chosen to be acknowledged for their work in and out of the classroom.
Gianna Marie Rupert, daughter of Jason and Katrina Rupert, was nominated as September’s Student of the Month by the English department. Gianna has been on High Honor Roll or Honor Roll every semester in her high school career to date. Gianna is currently the vice president of the Class of 2023, school ambassador for S.A.D.D, treasurer of drama club, choir librarian, vice president of the history club and treasurer/secretary for National Honor Society. She has previously served as secretary of S.A.D.D. and Alto section leader and vice president of choir. In addition to her leadership roles, Gianna is also a member of concert band, Knight Music and participates in the school musicals. Gianna volunteers at the West End Christian Community Center (WECCC) in Newberry. When she is not in school, Gianna loves to write and play along with celebrity Jeopardy, immerse herself in TV Shows and movies and take voice lessons. Gianna plans to attend a four-year liberal arts college and major in English with a minor in creative writing.
Megan Lowe, daughter of Kristen and Gary Lowe, was nominated as October’s Student of the Month by the music department. Megan has been on Honor Roll six times during her high school career to date. Megan has been a member of the tennis team for three years, track for four years and marching band for five years. She is currently the vice president of the drama club and section leader for the trumpet section in the marching band. In addition to her leadership roles, she is an active member in Knight Music, jazz band and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Megan also represented Loyalsock at the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference. She also volunteers at her church and helps the tech team and in Sunday School. When she is not busy with school related activities, Megan can be found either at YCDI Dance Studio, doing productions at the CTL or hanging out with her friends and family. Megan plans to attend Bloomsburg University to major in early childhood and minor in dance.
