Jersey Shore High School November Students of the Month
Jersey Shore High School selects two seniors each month to honor as students of the month. For the month of November, Cassadi Rose Dodd, Business and Professional Women’s Student of the Month and Hadyn Francis Packer, Lions Club Student of the Month, were chosen to be acknowledged.
Cassadi Rose Dodd, the daughter of Sam and Rose Dodd of Bastress, is involved in various activities in and out of the classroom. She is a four-year member of the tennis team, a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and has earned distinguished honor roll all four years of high school. Cassadi has placed first and second for her regional competitive events in 10th and 11th grade for FBLA. She is also an inductee of National Spanish Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She has also participated in homecoming committee in ninth, 11th and 12th grades. She also held a position on the prom committee during her junior year. In her senior year, she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Cassadi also got to play in the Powder-Puff game. She is a member of student council. She is also very active in the community including helping at her grandmother’s church events, volunteering at the YWCA during their annual Christmas party and organizing and distributing goods at the New Love Center. In her free time, Cassadi enjoys hanging out with friends, baking and traveling. She hopes to attend either Bloomsburg University or the University of Pittsburgh to major in obstetrical nursing.
Hadyn Francis Packer, the son of Mike and Tammy Packer of Bastress, is also another student who is active in and out of the classroom. Hadyn is a four-year member of the outdoor club, FBLA, wrestling and football teams. He was involved in his class committee during his junior and senior years. He has also been captain of the wrestling team for all four years of his participation with the team. During his junior and senior years, he has also been the captain of the football team and class president. Hadyn was a recipient of the Bishop’s Youth Award and is a member of the distinguished honor roll. In his freshman year, Hadyn was a wrestling state qualifier and in his junior year he placed third in the state for wrestling. He was also awarded All-State Linebacker for football in his sophomore and junior years. Also during his junior year of football, Hadyn was selected as the NewsWatch 16 Dream Team Defensive Player of the Year and the Lock Haven Express Player of the Year. Over the summer, Hadyn works at Nomad Distilling Co. He has also worked at his uncle’s orchard, Eck’s Orchard, helping take care of the orchard and picking fruit. Hadyn is also an active member the church he attends, Immaculate Conception. He does alter serving at weekly masses and busses meals for Labor and Memorial Day picnics. Additionally, he is a member of the youth group. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, lifting weights, playing video games and spending time with family and friends.
