December Warrior Run Students of the Month

Warrior Run High School selects four students each month to honor as students of the month. Allison Zaktansky, outstanding senior; Nora Styer, Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month; Mackenzie Watts, Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month; and Willow Frey, Milton Rotary Club Vocational Student of the Month have all been chosen to be acknowledged for the month of December, 2022.

Allison Zaktansky, daughter of Jim and Becca Zaktansky, is the treasurer of the National Honor Society and is the senior librarian for the Warrior Run Concert Choir. She is also a member of student council and is participating in the spring musical. Allison has received the AP Scholar Award and is a Building Leaders of the Susquehanna Valley graduate. She has also participated in the College Board National Rural and Small Down Recognition program in 2022-2023. In her free time, she attends Christ Wesleyan Church and the CMF youth group, where she leads the Youth Worship Team. She also volunteers her time at the HERYN camp through the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association. Allison enjoys playing guitar, singing, baking, being out in nature and spending time with friends and family. In the future, she plans to attend Waynesburg University to receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing and become a registered nurse. Upon graduating, she wants to work as a pediatric nurse in an accredited hospital.

Nora Snyder, the daughter of Richard and Michele Styer, has been an active member of DECA and a member of Warrior Run news. She has been playing field hockey for five years. She attends Saint Andrews Lutheran Church in Muncy and volunteers to run the music at winter games at Warrior Run. She as placed at DECA districts and received the varsity leadership award in field hockey this season. She has also lettered in field hockey and was captain of the team. She is currently employed at Mays Drive-In in Muncy. In her free time, she loves to spend time with friends and family, read, adventure and see new places. Her future plans include attending a college or university studying forensic criminology.

Mackenzie Watts, the daughter of Samantha Watts, is a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Defender Cafe and the softball team. She has also participated in travel softball. In her time at Warrior Run, she has earned honor roll, distinguished honor roll and student council student of the month. She has also achieved second place and scholarship in a junior event dog show. She is currently employed at Weis Markets and Muncy and Bigfoot Subs. In her free time, she enjoys baking, dog showing and playing softball. In the future, she hopes to become a licensed occupational therapist and focus on people with disabilities. She plans to attend Elizabethtown College.

Willow Frey, the daughter of Chris and Jaimie Frey, is a Defender Cafe and math tutor and is a member of Warrior Run news. She has achieved a certification of excellence for her membership with the Defender Cafe and leadership level 1 certification program through the Bloomsburg Anchor program in 2019. She plans to either attend Cedar Crest College or Lock Haven University to attain her master’s degree in psychology. Though she has many options on the table as far as her career, she is considering becoming a social worker, psychiatrist or therapist after receiving her degree.
