Jersey Shore Area High School March Students of the Month
Jersey Shore Area High School selects two seniors each month to honor as students of the month. Madison Lorraine Sparks, Business and Professional Women’s Student of the Month and Luke Marc Springman, Lion’s Club Student of the month, have been chosen to be acknowledged for the month of March.
Madison Lorraine Sparks, the daughter of Jason Sparks and Valerie Thompson, of Jersey Shore, is involved in many activities within her school and community. Madison is a member of swim team, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, pep club, outdoor club, Bible club, as well as a two-year member of Key club. Throughout her high school career, Madison has also taken part in track and field, cross country, and Bible study. Within her Bible study group, she has volunteered to help with Hope Venezuela. Outside of school, Madison has put her time in working at the YMCA for one year, a lifeguard for two years, and she is currently working at Bald Birds, of which she has been a part of for about a year now. Madison is proud to say that she has been taking college courses that have been recommended by her teachers since the eighth grade. She strives for good grades and success in her honors classes. Within the community and outside of school, you can see Madison helping volunteer for the community during her leisure time. She likes to spend time with her family and friends, and she also supports many of Jersey Shore’s sports since she is in pep club. Once Madison graduates, she plans on attending Lock Haven University to major in business.
Luke Marc Springman, the son of Tamra Rook of Jersey Shore, was a four-year member of the varsity football team at Jersey Shore where he lettered each season. While on the football team Luke earned the following awards: 1st Team All-Conference Offensive and Defensive Lineman, 2nd Team All-State Offensive Guard and 1st Team Team-State Lineman. Luke was a member of the wrestling team his freshman year, and track and field during his junior year. He has participated in FBLA, Key club, Bible club and pep club. Luke was voted vice president of his class during his his freshman and junior years, and class president his sophomore year. He has earned distinguished honor roll every year. Outside of school, Luke volunteers at his church, Avis United Methodist Church. He volunteers at food drives and donates blood regularly. Luke enjoys hunting, fishing, lifting weights and hanging out with family and friends. After high school, Luke plans on attending college to study polymer engineering.
