Warrior Run High School April Students of the Month
Warrior Run High School selects four seniors each month to acknowledge as students of the month. For the month of April, Penn Hastings Patten, Outstanding Senior; Jainie R. Hanford, Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month; Kara Ann Hoffman, Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month; and Luke James Heddings, Milton Rotary Club Vocational Student of the Month have all been chosen to be acknowledged.
Penn Hastings Patten, the son of Thomas Patten and Catherine Hastings, is a member of the National Honor Society and student council. Penn also was a member of the track and field team from his freshman to junior years and a member of the soccer team from his freshman to senior years. Penn is also a Boy Scout. In the future, Penn plans to get an internship during college while studying computer engineering and hopes to be hired upon graduation.
Jainie R. Hanford, the daughter of Joe Hanford and Carie and Jamie Cutchall, is a member of the Warrior Run Lady Defenders soccer team and LYCO Health Careers. She is also involved in her church’s youth group. In her free time, she enjoys watching her niece and nephews as well as baking. She plans to attend the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit for two years to become a licensed practical nurse. While there, she hopes to get a job at UPMC Williamsport and later attend Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg campus, to become a registered nurse. She hopes to work in the labor and delivery unit.
Kara Ann Hoffman, the daughter of Kipton and Tamara Hoffman, is involved in Warrior Run’s drama club, choir and the school musicals. Kara is a JesVic volunteer and is currently employed at Pier 87. Kara has also earned distinguished honor roll. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and piano as well as sewing. In the future, Kara plans to attend Lasell University to study fashion design in the hopes to become a fashion designer.
Luke James Heddings, the son of Jim and Becky Heddings, is involved in the automotive technology program at Lycoming Career and Technology Center. He is involved in welding and fabrication as well as small gas engines. He is also a Boy Scouts Troup 622 member. He is currently employed at the George Farms butcher shop. He has earned distinguished honor roll, LycoCTC technical skill award, anticipated eagle scout and the 100 Mile Club in Boy Scouts. He has also achieved the highest GPA in his class. In his free time, he enjoys camping, hiking and welding. In the future, he hopes to enter into a five-year apprenticeship to be a journeyman pipefitter and work under the local 520 Plumbing and Pipefitting Union.
