Lycoming County Commissioners recently proclaimed Friday, May 12, as Law Day. Eleven students were honored at a special ceremony held at the county courthouse. This year's Law Day art included an original song, a poem and law-related baked goods. All winners received a cash prize from Lycoming Law Association. One lucky winner, Emma Strickland, was selected as the grand prize winner. She received a $1,000 cash prize. This was the fourth time Strickland had a winning Law Day essay.
This year's theme, "Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration" informed students about rebuilding trust in our institutions, respecting one another, and encouraging a willingness to collaborate to address the challenges that face our nation.
