Montoursville Area High School May Students of the Month
Montoursville Area High School recently recognized their May students of the month. Branden Wentzel and Hannah Klotz are the Warrensville Lions Club Students of the Month, and Josiah Schans and Abigail Dame are the Montoursville Lions Club Students of the Month.
Branden Wentzel, son of Jamie and Mike Wentzel, is captain of the high school wrestling team and helps coach little wrestlers at the Ride Out Wrestling Club. After high school, Branden plans to attend Penn State University to obtain a degree in secondary education with an emphasis in biology. He also plans to wrestle on the PSU team.
Hannah Klotz, daughter of Jon and Susan Klotz, is the class of 2023 president, student government president and Key club president. She is also involved in National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), Quill & Scroll National Honor Society, physics club, yearbook staff, prom committee and homecoming committee. Hannah was on homecoming court, the varsity soccer team and the varsity softball team. After high school, Hannah plans to attend Saint Peter’s University to study finance and communications and media studies. She also plans to play softball.
Josiah Schans, son of Angela Schans, is a member of the high school track team. He provides lawn care services across Montoursville for the elderly and is an AWANA leader for Greenview Alliance Church. After high school, Josiah plans to attend Bucknell University for track and field with a major in mechanical engineering.
Abigail Dame, daughter of Kelly and Jake Dame, is involved in marching band (color guard), student government, Key club, theatre arts, chorus and Arrowhead staff. She was on winter semiformal court and is in the medical careers class that travels to Geisinger each week to work as a co-op nurse assistant. Abigail has done several service projects through Key club and helped host a Hats for Heat event. After high school, she plans to attend Misericordia University to major in speech-language pathology.
