DAR chapter announces award winners
Each year, the Lycoming Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution presents commencement awards to area high school seniors with the highest average in American History. The Anne Perley American history award goes to a senior at Williamsport Area High School, honoring the chapter’s 4th Regent Anne Perley from Williamsport, who was also a State Regent, and a Vice President General at the national level of the society.
The chapter also presents an American History award to seven other schools in the county, with the same criteria. All students receive a monetary award from the chapter.
The 2023 recipients are Anne Perley American History award: Benjamin Manetta , Williamsport Area High School; American History Awards: Ethan Woolcock, Hughesville High School; Harris Khan, Loyalsock Township High School; Gavin Rine, Montgomery Area Jr/Sr. High School; Christian Smith, Montoursville Area High School; Abigail Shaffer, Muncy High School; Kane Sterling Wright, St John Neumann Regional Academy; and Nicolas Cremer, South Williamsport Area Jr/Sr. High School.
