Walnut Street Christian School students honored with awards
Walnut Street Christian School students grades 5 through 12, tested against top KCEA students across the state and were recognized for their high achievements. Superior is the highest award, and students from WSCS received trophies in this award for elementary geography and history as well as senior high spelling. Excellent is the next highest award and students received this trophy in elementary and junior high science, as well as senior high English. The Merit award is another award received and students earned medals in elementary science, junior high geography and history and research poetry and senior high English, geography and history and spelling. Honorable mention is the last award given and students received ribbons in elementary Bible, English, spelling and math, junior high English, geography and history and math and senior high extemp. essay, geography and history, math and spelling. The Christian Character Award is chosen by the teacher and goes to the student who has shown good conduct throughtout the year as well as exemplifying Christ in their attitude, in their hard work and in their daily service to others.
