Montoursville Area High School recognized their October students of the month. Alexa Tira and Cole Yonkin are the Montoursville Lions Club Students of the Month. Lauren Kremer and Joshua Wentzler are the Warrensville Lions Club Students of the Month.
Alexa Tira, daughter of Andrea and Ryan Tira, is the PA District Bulletin Editor and past lieutenant governor of Key Club, vice president of Rho Kappa, secretary of Spanish Honor Society, a member of the Mock Trial team, National Honor Society, Student Government, the Med Careers Co-op and the marching and concert bands. She also participates in Young Life and is an assistant coach for Upward Basketball. She hopes to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point to major in international relations and minor in terrorism studies.
Cole Yonkin, son of Denice Rathjen and Matt Yonkin, is captain of both the football and wrestling teams. After high school, he plans to attend a four year college for business and continue wrestling.
Lauren Kremer, daughter of Lauri and Ken Kremer, is the vice president of National Honor Society, captain of the Mock Trial team, section leader of the color guard, secretary of the Spanish Club, a member of National Science Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Key Club, student government, Arrowhead staff, physics club and the track team. Her volunteering projects have included co-chairing the Angel Tree project, the National Honor Society backpack program, Wreaths Across America, Warrior Pal program, the MS Walk and helping a kindergarten teacher. After high school, she hopes to attend Bucknell University or Lycoming College to major in biochemistry and neuroscience.
Joshua Wentzler, son of Cindy and Todd Wentzler, is the president of the National Honor Society, editor of the school's yearbook, historian for the Class of 2024, a member of National English Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Key Club and the soccer and tennis teams. He is also a member of Boy Scout Troop 21 and is on track to become an Eagle Scout in the spring. He hopes to attend Syracuse University and major in sports analytics.
