Jersey Shore Area High School October Students of the Month

Each month, Jersey Shore Area High School acknowledges two students for their work inside and outside of the classroom, awarding them as students of the month. Abram Carson, Lions Club Student of the Month, and Reese Elizabeth Anderson, Business and Professional Women’s Student of the Month, were acknowledged during the month of October.
Abram Carson, son of Kim and Ben Carson, has been involved in various school activities that have set him apart. Since his sophomore year, he has actively participated in Model UN and Constitutional Convention. He is also a valued member of the National Honor Society and National English Honors Society, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence throughout his junior and senior years. Notably, in his senior year, Abram extended his engagement by joining both Mock Trial and Future Business Leaders of America, showcasing his dedication to both academics and community service.
Outside of the classroom, Abram finds time to give back to his community. Volunteering as a technological assistant at Grace Fellowship Church and contributing to the service of veterans at the Bryce Jordan Center underscore his commitment to service. Abram also works part-time as a grocery associate at Weis Markets, where he has earned frequent recognition awards. His dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his receipt of the Superior Delegate Award and Superior Delegation Award, as well as a National and Rural Small Town Award from the College Board.
When not engaged in school or work, Abram indulges in various hobbies, including cooking, gardening, reading and playing video games. With a clear passion for history, Abram plans to attend college and pursue a degree in history, aspiring to become a history teacher in the future.
Reese Elizabeth Anderson, the daughter of Brett and Tammy Anderson, has been acknowledged for her outstanding achievements in the student community. Reese has made notable contributions to the school’s extracurricular activities, serving as the secretary and vice president of the FBLA during her 11th and 12th-grade terms, respectively. Alongside her academic commitments, she has actively participated in varsity soccer, even leading the team as captain during her junior and senior years.

In addition to her school engagements, Reese has also managed to hold a part-time job at the Phill It Up Drive-In throughout her high school years. With a consistent presence on the distinguished honor roll and her dedication to sports, Reese has proven herself as a well-rounded student. Looking forward, she aims to pursue a business education at Lock Haven University after her high school graduation. When not occupied with her studies, Reese enjoys spending time with her loved ones, engaging in activities such as weightlifting, soccer and fishing.
