Montoursville Area High School recognized their December students of the month. Lucia Catino and Ben Nguyen are the Montoursville Students of the Month and Maizy Havens and Wyatt Fry are the Warrensville Students of the Month.

Lucia Catino, daughter of Megan Altebrando and Justin Catino, is a captain of the Mock Trial team, president of Rho Kappa, historian of the National Art Honor Society, treasurer of the Spanish Honor Society, chairwoman of Key Club, a member of National Honor Society and student government. She is a Penguin Project mentor and worked with Young Life and the Trepanowski Dance Project. After high school, Catino plans to attend Duquesne University to earn a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in Spanish and then attend law school.

Ben Nguyen, son of Tien Tran and Vinh Nguyen, is a member of Key Club, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, Science National Honor Society, student government, astronomy club, physics club and the yearbook staff. After high school, Nguyen plans to attend a four-year college to major in computer science.

Maizy Havens, daughter of Tara Hiestand and Tyson Havens, is president of the Science National Honor Society, secretary of the National English Honor Society, vice president of the astronomy club, and a member of Rho Kappa, Key Club, Ski Club and is on the cross country and track and field teams. She has a assisted in the “Run for Ukraine” 5k race and the Fall Festival. After graduation, Havens plans to attend college for a degree in biology in hopes of later attending a physician’s assistant program.

Wyatt Fry, son of Reba and Seth Fry, is secretary of Future Farmers of America and a member of Key Club and National Honor Society. He is also on the varsity soccer, football, basketball and tennis teams. He is a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Fry’s post-graduation plans are undecided at this time.
