Montoursville Area High School January Students of the Month

Montoursville Area High School recognized their Students of the Month for January. Chase Snyder and Emma Chilen are the Students of the Month for the Montoursville Lions Club, and Holden Fleming and Melody Rzeszotarski are the Students of the Month for the Warrensville Lions Club.

Chase Snyder, son of Chad Snyder and Sheryl Snyder-Everitt, is team captain of the basketball team, treasurer of Key Club, a member of Future Farmers of America, as well as the baseball and golf teams. He is also a member of Bethel United Methodist. After graduation, Snyder plans to attend a four-year university to major in aviation with a goal of being a commercial airline pilot.

Emma Chilen, daughter of Edward and Lorraine Chilen, is a member of the Mock Trial team, Key Club, student government, Rho Kappa, Science National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, the cross country team, the track and field team and the marching band. After graduation, Chilen plans to finish Army training and attend AIT, upon return to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Holden Fleming, son of Michael and Robin Fleming, is president of the physics club and a member of the track and field team, astronomy club, Science National Honor Society and student government. He also participates in the Penn Tech Youth Leadership Program, is a hapkido black belt and works at the Hatchet House. After graduation, Fleming plans to attend a four year college to major in engineering, physics or aerospace engineering at Susquehanna University, Penn State or Cornell University.

Melody Rzeszotarski, daughter of Steven and Joy Rzeszotarski, is president of the senior class, vice president of student government, secretary of Rho Kappa, secretary of astronomy club, senior drum major, president of concert choir, senior team captain and two-time national medalist for Academic Decathlon, first runner-up of the PA State Laurel Festival and an Ashbrook Academy Scholar. She is also a member of Science National Honor Society, physics club, National Honor Society, ‘Ville Harmonic Ensemble, Mock Constitutional Convention, Model UN, Social Science Seminar and the yearbook staff. She is a student representative on the district’s school board and volunteers with the ENGin program to teach Ukrainians English. After graduation, Rzeszotarski plans to attend Georgetown University to obtain a bachelor’s degree in government with a minor in Russian language and literature. With this degree, she will pursue a career in the State Department as a policy analyst and eventually as a diplomat.
