Area high schools recently competed at the Academic Decathalon of Central Pennsylvania's winter scrimmage at Montoursville Area High School, according to a press release.
Students competed in music, math, economics and science events.
Montoursville won the "prestigious" SuperQuiz Relay event and came in second place out of seven teams.
In the honors devision, Addison Confer, junior, won a bronze in science and music.
In the scholastic division, Melody Rzeszortarski, senior, won a gold in music and economics, a silver in science and a silver in overall score and Zach McGarvey, senior, won bronze in math.
In the varsity division, Orion Boyles, senior, won silver in math; Reese Paterson, sophomore, won silver in economics; Haily Copp, senior, won bronze in math; Olivia Silva, senior, won bronze in math; and Grace Barkauskas, sophomore, won bronze in music.
Other competing students were Montoursville seniors, Riley Nelson, Elodie Ozon and Gabi Pulizzi; juniors Sydney Coburn and Naomi Zeigler; and freshmen Reagan Gonzalez, Alex Martyniuk and Noah Smith.
