Stadler Center Writers’ Series continues with central Pa. writers
The Stadler Center for Poetry and Literary Arts annual Writers’ Series continues on March 5 with two Pennsylvania authors Abby Minor and Tyler James Russell, according to a press release. The two will present as part of the series’ Susquehanna Valley Voices Reading.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. on March 5 at the Community Zone, 330 Market St., Lewisburg.
Minor, who lives in central Pennsylvania, works on poems, essays, gardens and project exploring reproductive politics. “As I Said: A Dessent (2022)”, her first book, is a collection of long documentary poems about abortion, embodiment, justice and citizenship in U.S. History. In most recent years, Minor has worked as the founding director of Ridgelines Language Arts, a non-profit that provides language arts instruction outside of classrooms, schools or institutions, to those who are marginalized in her community, according to the release. Through the non-profit, Minor has taught poetry workshops at low-income nursing homes.
Russell, the author of “When Fire Splits the Sky (2022)” and “To Drown a Man (2020),” is an educator who lives in Pennsylvania, the news release said. His work has been nominated for the Rhysling and Best of the Net.
