Warrior Run January Students of the Month

Warrior Run School District selects four students each month to honor as students of the month. Leah Rae Shaffer, Outstanding Senior; Rory Dunnick, Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month; Gabrielle Lynne Staman, Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month; Ryan Stephen Newton, Milton Rotary Club Vocational Student of the Month have been acknowledged for their hard work in and out of the classroom.

Leah Rae Shaffer, the daughter of Brian and Jennifer Shaffer, is a member of the National Honor Society, the president of student council and the senior editor of the yearbook. She is currently a waitress at the Allenwood Cafe. She plans to attend either the University of Pittsburgh or Millersville University in hopes to get a master’s degree in social work. She hopes to become a clinical social worker or a social worker in the medical field.

Rory Dunnick, the daughter of Jeremy and Paula Dunnick, is a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Youth in Philanthropy, choir and DECA. She has earned the Merit Scholarship and raised more than $2,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She is currently involved at First Baptist Church in Danville. In her free time, Rory enjoys surfing. She plans to attend Commonwealth University — Bloomsburg campus, to study medical imaging.

Gabrielle Lynne Staman, the daugher of Eric and Lori Staman, is a member of the National Honor Society, student council, choir and DECA. She has earned the Josten’s National Student of the Month for December of 2022 and is a DECA National Competition qualifier. She is currently involved at her church, Grace Baptist in Muncy. She is currently employed at Weis Markets. She plans to attend Commonwealth University — Bloomsburg campus, to study medical imaging and become an OB Ultrasound Technician.

Ryan Stephen Newton, the son of Eric and Michelle Newton, is a member of the National Honor Society, TSA as well as the football and basketball teams. He has earned honor roll at Warrior Run. He is currently a cook at The Fence Drive-In and nenjoys basketball, fishing and hunting in his free time. He plans to attend Rochester Institute of Technology to study mechanical engineering.
