Warrior Run High School February Students of the Month

Warrior Run High School honors four students each month as students of the month. Avery Renee McCormick, Outstanding Senior; Cole Richard Shupp, Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month; Elle Claire Bowers, Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month, and Dominick Jordan Shuey, Milton Rotary Club Vocational Student of the Month, are being acknowledged for the month of February.

Avery Renee McCormick, the daughter of Jason and Susan McCormick, is involved in student council, National Honor Society, Defender Pride Club, DECA and Youth in Philanthropy. She is also a member of the concert choir, varsity track and field and field hockey teams. She has earned distinguished honor roll, many varsity letters for track and field and field hockey, SBE Gold Certification for DECA and was named MVP of the field hockey team. Outside of the classroom, Avery has been involved on a club field hockey team at Sports Zone, attends youth group at First Baptist Church and Community Mennonite Fellowship. She is also a waitress at Arrowhead Bar and Restaurant and a part-time retail associate at Marshalls. Though she is undecided on a college or university to attend, she plans to major in business administration with a minor in digital communications with the hope of becoming a digital marketing communications worker. She also plans to travel.

Cole Richard Shupp, the son of Stephen and Courtney Shupp, is the vice president of Future Farmers of America, and is a member of TSA and the wrestling team. He was a PIAA state qualifier. In his free time, Cole enjoys hunting, fishing and hanging out with his friends. He plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology to study welding and fabrication engineering to become a weld inspector.

Elle Claire Bowers, the daughter of Denny and Amy Bowers, is the president of the senior class, Defender Pride Club, Inclusion Club and marching band. She is also the captain of color guard, the secretary of concert choir and is a member of the student council, National Honors Society, Unified Bocce Ball and drama club. Elle participates in the fall drama productions and spring musicals. She is also an honors student. In the future, she plans to attend Duquesne University to study psychology with the hopes of becoming a school psychologist.

Dominick Jordan Shuey, the son of Chris and Heather Shuey, is a member of TSA, yearbook, AP Photography, pottery and the football team. He has earned the best dressed superlative. He is a state qualifier for TSA in logo design and has lettered in football. He plans to attend Penn College to major in graphic design with the intention of moving to a more urban area to start a life in graphic design and photography.
