Jersey Shore Area School District, Lions Club name Delaney Catherine Burget and Benjamin Dalton as students of the month

Jersey Shore Senior High School proudly announces Delaney Catherine Burget as the Business and Professional Woman’s September Student of the Month. The daughter of Robert and Tonya Burget of Jersey Shore, Delaney has distinguished herself both academically and in extracurricular activities.

A dedicated student, she has been a four-year member of the varsity cheerleading squad and the English Honors Society, currently serving as vice president. She is also actively involved in numerous other organizations, including The Paw Print, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta (where she serves as secretary), National Honors Society, and National Spanish Honors Society. Additionally, she plays a key role in her school’s yearbook, serving as editor during her senior year.

In addition to her academic and extracurricular commitments, Delaney has contributed to her community through various volunteer efforts. She has planted trees in Rider Park, made cards for YMCA residents, and packed boxes for the PA Food Bank. Her leadership qualities have been evident since her freshman year, when she was elected class president and also selected for the Homecoming Court. She continued to lead as a member of the Prom Committee in her junior year and participated in the Penn College Leadership Program. Throughout her high school career, Delaney has earned varsity letters for cheerleading from 10th through 12th grade and was recognized as an All-American cheerleader during her sophomore year.

Outside of school, Delaney enjoys movies, books, podcasts, and music, and values time spent with family and friends. Since 9th grade, she has worked part-time as a waitress at Henry’s BBQ, showcasing her strong work ethic. After graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in public communications, with her top choice being Syracuse University. Delaney’s dedication, leadership, and academic achievements make her a deserving recipient of the Student of the Month honor.

Benjamin Dalton

Jersey Shore Senior High School is pleased to honor Benjamin Dalton as the Lion’s Club September Student of the Month. Ben is the son of Shawn and Colette Dalton of Jersey Shore. A standout student-athlete, Benjamin has been a four-year member of the basketball team, serving as varsity captain in his junior year and earning varsity letters in both 10th and 11th grades. His leadership on and off the court is further highlighted by his receipt of the P.J. Fioretti Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Highest GPA awards for his basketball team. Alongside his athletic achievements, Benjamin has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning a spot on the distinguished honor roll every marking period.

Beyond his accomplishments in sports and academics, Benjamin has made his mark in other areas of student life.

He has been an active participant in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), where he placed 4th in the region for Accounting 2, and is also a member of the National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta. His strong work ethic extends beyond school, as he works part-time at Pizza 2 Go and volunteers as a basketball referee at the YMCA. His contributions to the community have not gone unnoticed, as he was the recipient of the Abe Snyder Youth Award for the River Valley YMCA.

Outside of school, Benjamin enjoys staying active by playing basketball, pickleball, golf, and kayaking, as well as hiking and watching sports. He also values spending quality time with his friends and family. After high school, Benjamin plans to attend college to pursue a degree in actuarial science, a field where his academic excellence and analytical skills will surely continue to shine. His dedication to academics, athletics, and service makes him a deserving recipient of the Lion’s Club Student of the Month award.
