The Academic Decathlon of Central Pennsylvania held its first competition for the 2024-2025 year.

At the fall meet, held at Montoursville Area High School on Nov. 7, students competed in Essay, Literature, Art and Social Science.

Montoursville came in third place out of eight teams.

Medal winners were:

Honors Division

• Addison Confer, senior — Gold in Art

Scholastic Division

• Naomi Zeigler, senior — Silver in Literature and Social Science, Bronze in Essay and Art, and Bronze for Overall Score

Varsity Division

• Reese Peterson, junior — Gold in Essay, Literature, and Social Science and Gold for Overall Score

• Noah Smith, sophomore — Gold in Social Science, Bronze in Art

Also competing from Montoursville were sophomores Wesley Foster, Emily Gladu, Reagan Gonzalez, Morgan Hood and Alex Martyniuk; and freshmen Addison Beck, Nadia Farenish and Eva Farquharson.
