Students of the month announced at Jersey Shore

Jersey Shore Senior High School has recognized Reese Anne Charney as the Business and Jaymison Layne Stellfox as the Professional Women’s and Lions Club Student of the Month December student of the month, respectively.

The daughter of Dave and Leah Charney, Reese has excelled in academics, athletics and community involvement throughout her high school career.

A dedicated athlete, Reese has been a four-year member of the swim team, serving as team captain in her sophomore and senior years. She earned varsity letters in swimming from 9th through 11th grade and competed in the state swimming championships during those same years. Additionally, Reese participated in track and field for one year and cross country for another.

Beyond her athletic achievements, Reese has been an active contributor to her school and community. She is a three-year member of the Bible Club and a two-year member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. She also joined the National English Honors Society for her senior year.

Reese volunteers at her church dinners, serves as a junior swim coach and works part-time at Bald Birds Brewing Company.

Her academic excellence is evident in her consistent placement on the distinguished honor roll every marking period of high school. Reese was also recognized as Student of the Month during her freshman year.

In her free time, Reese enjoys sailing, hiking and going to the gym.

After graduation, she plans to attend Clarion University to major in pre-medicine, with aspirations of pursuing a career in the medical field.

The daughter of Jason and Michelle Stellfox, Jaymison has excelled in athletics, academics and community service throughout her high school career.

A four-year member of the tennis, basketball, and softball teams, she has earned multiple accolades, including three varsity letters in tennis and four in softball. Her softball achievements include being named MVP in her junior year and contributing to two district championships. In tennis, she was part of the district championship-winning team in both her junior and senior years.

Jaymison’s leadership extends to her involvement in school organizations. She has been a member of Key Club and the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for three years, serving as treasurer during her junior and senior years and representing her school at the FBLA state competitions twice. Additionally, she has participated in the Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta for two years, highlighting her academic dedication.

Outside of school, Jaymison works part-time at the Pine Creek Inn and regularly volunteers at the Love Center, showcasing her commitment to her community.

In her free time, Jaymison enjoys baking, reading and spending quality time with family and friends.

After graduation, she plans to attend college at Mansfield University to pursue environmental science as she continues to refine her career goals.
