Students of the month of May selected at Jersey Shore high school

As the recipient of the May Student of the Month award from the Business and Professional Women, Addison Dangle has exemplified remarkable dedication and achievement throughout her high school career. A student known for her academic excellence and extensive involvement in extracurricular activities, Addison has consistently demonstrated leadership, commitment, and a passion for service that sets her apart as a worthy winner of this esteemed recognition.
Addison is the daughter of Carolyn Dangle. Throughout her high school years, Addison has participated in an impressive array of activities. She has been an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Key Club, and the Model United Nations, showcasing her interest in business, leadership, and global affairs. She has also excelled academically, meeting the criteria for the Distinguished Honor Roll for three consecutive years, and is on track to achieve this honor for a fourth year.
Beyond academics, Addison’s athletic endeavors highlight her versatility and tenacity. She has earned varsity letters in Track and Field, Swimming, and Wrestling, demonstrating her commitment to athletics while balancing a rigorous academic schedule.
In addition to her school activities, Addison has contributed significantly to her community. She has spent four years as a lifeguard at the YMCA and served as a manager at Domino’s for three years, gaining valuable work experience while still excelling in her studies. Her service extends beyond employment; she is also involved as a hospital volunteer and has assisted in various church activities, embodying the spirit of giving back to her community.
Looking toward the future, Addison plans to attend Penn College of Technology, where she will pursue a degree in Architecture and Design, with a focus on residential houses. Her aspirations in architecture reflect her creative talents and vision for shaping spaces that enhance lives.

Addison is a role model for her peers, and her recognition as the Business and Professional Women Student of the Month is a testament to her hard work, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Jersey Shore Senior High School is proud to recognize Avah Lynn Hooven as the May Lions Club Student of the Month. The daughter of Amanda Sweeley, Avah has been an exceptional leader, student, and community member throughout her high school career.
A four-year participant in student council, Avah has demonstrated strong leadership, serving as vice president during her junior year and as president in her senior year. She has also been actively involved in the Homecoming committee, Outdoor club, Renaissance Club, and the Red Cross Club. Her academic excellence is reflected in her memberships in the National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.
A dedicated athlete, Avah has been a varsity cheerleader and a three-season athlete, earning a varsity letter for her contributions to the team.
Outside the classroom, Avah has shown incredible dedication to her community. She has worked at Phil It Up, Weis Markets, and currently at Geisinger Jersey Shore. Since 2021, she has been a devoted volunteer at the Lycoming County SPCA and regularly supports the Care & Share Pantry. In her free time, Avah enjoys babysitting, attending football games, shopping, kayaking, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Following graduation, Avah plans to attend Clarion University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing with a minor in psychology and continuing her education to complete her DNP with the goal of specializing in neonatology.
