Montoursville came in fourth place out of seven teams in the small-school division of the 2026 Academic Decathlon State Finals. Medal winners are, in the Honors Division: Catherine Hittle (11th) – Gold in Interview, Silver in Literature and Speech; Ruby Watts (11th) – Silver in Essay; and Abel Conahan (10th) – Silver in Science. In the Scholastic Division: Morgan Hood (11th) – Silver in Music; Zion Brown (10th) – Bronze in Math; and Izabella Weaver (9th) – Bronze in Music. In the Varsity Division: Reese Peterson (12th) – Gold in Speech and Interview; Silver in Economics; Bronze in Essay, Social Science and Music; and the Gold Medal for Overall Score; and Rylee Tillema (11th) – Gold in Economics; Silver in Music and Speech. Reese Peterson also qualified to advance to the on line National Finals in April. Also competing from Montoursville were junior Sadie Hall and sophomore Nadia Farenish.
