February students of the month named in Jersey Shore

Lila Grace Nestlerode, daughter of Megan Miller of Jersey Shore, has been selected as the February Business and Professional Women Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Lila is recognized for her academic excellence, athletic dedication, leadership, and commitment to service.

Throughout her high school career, Lila has been actively involved in athletics and numerous school organizations. As a freshman, she participated in cheerleading and swimming. During her sophomore year, she continued cheerleading and swimming while also competing in Track and Field and joining Key Club. In her junior year, Lila focused on swimming while becoming involved in the National Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Red Cross Club, and Pep Club.

As a senior, she continues her involvement in swimming and is active in National Art Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, English Honor Society, National Honor Society, Key Club, Red Cross Club, Pep Club, and YDTF.

Lila has demonstrated strong leadership, serving as the Swim Team Captain and Treasurer of both Pep Club and Spanish Honor Society during her senior year. Her commitment to athletics is evident through earning athletic letters in swimming and cheerleading during her freshman and sophomore years, and in swimming during her junior year.

Outside of school, Lila has worked as a lifeguard at the Jersey Shore Public Pool during the summers following her sophomore and junior years and is currently a lifeguard at the Lock Haven YMCA. She also serves as a swim coach, further sharing her passion for the sport and mentoring younger swimmers.

In her free time, Lila enjoys art, swimming, cooking, and hanging out with friends. After graduation, she plans to attend Misericordia University to continue swimming and to major in biology while completing her teaching certifications and requirements.

Macy Gabriella Wilton, daughter of Jolene and Donald Wilton of Anthony Township, has been selected as the February Lions Club Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Macy is recognized for her exceptional academic record, leadership in athletics, and dedication to community service.

Throughout her high school career, Macy has been actively involved in both academics and extracurricular activities. As a freshman, she participated in soccer, swimming, FBLA, and Outdoor Club. During her sophomore year, she focused on swimming and joined the Red Cross Club. In her junior year, she continued swimming and Red Cross Club while being inducted into the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Art Honor Society. As a senior, Macy remains active in swimming, Red Cross Club, National Honor Society, Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, English Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Key Club.

Macy has demonstrated strong leadership as Team Captain of the Swim Team during both her junior and senior years and currently serves as Vice President of the Art Honor Society. She has earned distinguished honor roll every quarter of high school, received a varsity letter in swimming each season, and qualified for Districts in swimming. Her academic excellence is further reflected in her induction into National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Art Honor Society.

Outside of school, Macy is deeply involved in her community. She is a member of the youth group at Immaculate Conception Church and volunteers at church picnics and the Love Center. She works as a lifeguard and supervisor at the Jersey Shore Pool and as a lifeguard for the YMCA swim team. Additionally, she has participated in floats for Jersey Shore parades and works as a hostess at Bullfrog Brewery, where she also assists in training new employees.

In her free time, Macy enjoys growing and maintaining plants, working out at the gym, playing pickleball, cheering at school sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.

After graduation, Macy plans to attend college to pursue pre-dentistry studies with the goal of becoming a dentist. She is currently in the process of applying to colleges and looks forward to continuing her academic journey.
