Students of the month of March selected at Jersey Shore Area High School

Gracelyn Margaret Harsanyi, daughter of Emily Delaney and David Harsanyi of Jersey Shore, has been selected as the March Business and Professional Women Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Gracelyn is recognized for her academic dedication, leadership, and strong commitment to both athletics and community service.
During her freshman and sophomore years, Gracelyn was actively involved in Band–participating in Concert, Jazz, and Marching Band as a percussionist–while also competing in varsity golf and Track and Field. In her junior year, she continued her commitment to varsity golf and became involved in the National Art Honor Society while serving as President of the Red Cross Club during the 2024-2025 school year. As a senior, she remains dedicated to varsity golf and is active in the National Art Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She continues her leadership in the Red Cross Club and is currently serving as the vice president for the 2025-2026 school year.
Gracelyn has earned a varsity letter in golf from 2022 through 2026, demonstrating her long-term dedication and athletic achievement. Her involvement in National Art Honor Society reflects her creativity and academic excellence.
Beyond school activities, Gracelyn works at Jersey Shore Hospital as a nursing co-op student, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the medical field. She also works at Tiadaghton Embroidery. These professional experiences highlight her strong work ethic and commitment to her future career.
In her free time, Gracelyn enjoys reading, painting and drawing, doing her own nails, making jewelry, playing pickleball, golfing, softball, and photography.

Gracelyn has committed to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in the fall of 2026, where she will major in Nursing. After completing her degree, she plans to pursue a career as a flight nurse.
Chesney Lou Fetzer, daughter of Jessica Fetzer and Caleb Diehl of Salladasburg, has been selected as the March 2026 Lions Club Student of the Month at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School. Chesney is recognized for her dedication to athletics, academics, and community service.
Throughout high school, Chesney has been a committed member of the soccer program, participating all four years. In her junior and senior years, she expanded her involvement to include the National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, National English Honor Soceity and Red Cross Club, demonstrating both academic excellence and a desire to serve others. In her senior year Chesney continued her involvement in these clubs along with becoming treasurer of National Art Honor Society and secretary of National Honor Society.
Chesney also gives back to her community as an AYSO volunteer, supporting youth soccer and helping younger athletes develop their skills and confidence. Her continued commitment to service reflects her strong character and leadership qualities.
Outside of school, Chesney enjoys fishing, reading, spending time outdoors, and boating. These interests reflect her appreciation for nature and an active lifestyle.
After graduation, Chesney plans to attend Elmira College to pursue a career as a Crime Scene Investigator.
