CU-Lock Haven to host U2 tribute band and Uptown Music Collective on LH Jams Festival opening night

LOCK HAVEN — Commonwealth University-Lock Haven will present “Rockin’ The Haven” to kick off the LH Jams Festival on Thursday, Aug. 8 with U2 tribute band Unforgettable Fire and The Uptown Music Collective (UMC) at the Price Performance Center. BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Markus Rybak, of South Williamsport, was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Rybak was initiated at Pennsylvania State University. Rybak is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Williamsport alum named Academic All-District as baseball player at Lebanon Valley College

ANNVILLE — Owen Berry, of Cogan Station, was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators. He batted .300 this season in 31 games with 27 hits including seven doubles and two home runs. Berry knocked in 19 runs and scored 19 times. On the mound, he was 0-2 with a 7.59 earned run average in 10.2 innings pitched over seven appearances. In the field, he made 58 assists and 31 putouts. Berry, a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration at Lebanon Valley College.
