Lawmakers unveil plan to address Pa.’s teacher shortage

What’s happening: Lawmakers and others in the education arena are growing increasingly concerned about the reduction in the number of teachers and support staff in Pennsylvania’s classrooms. At a Capitol news conference on Monday, a band of Democratic lawmakers led by Rep. Patty Kim, D-Cumberland/Dauphin counties, and joined by Rep. Commonwealth University Lock Haven Campus to host social work lecture series

LOCK HAVEN — Brittany Cooley, Lock Haven 2011 social work graduate, will speak on mental health and suicide awareness on Wednesday, March 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. in Ulmer 211 — planetarium on the Lock Haven campus. Cooley is a podcast host and has published three books on mental health awareness. She has worked in the field of mental health for the last 10 years and now has her own consulting company. Children’s Museum presents ‘Nature’s Explorers’ series

Lewisburg — The Union County Historical Society (UCHS), in collaboration with the Merrill W. Linn Land & Waterways Conservancy, Bucknell Humanities Center, and the Lewisburg Children’s Museum (LCM) are pleased to present a spring session of Nature’s Explorers.
