To honor his late father, Jersey Shore student Brayden Seasholtz is working with the Hatchet House on a tournament to raise money for suicide prevention. The event will be Seasholtz's second fundraiser, with a goal of donating $10,000 to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Last year, the teen hosted a kickball tournament and in-school fundraiser. This year, he's raising funds with the help of the Hatchet House, on Market Street, where an axe-throwing competition is slated for 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4. Raffles with prizes and food will be available. Tickets can be bought in advance from Seasholtz's mom, Amber, or through the Hatchet House. Tickets aren't required for entry, but will reserve buyers a spot in the competition. Three lanes will be open for throwing. The competitor with the highest score will win a gift basket of Hatchet House goodies. Raffle prizes include signed photos of athletes from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State University, a necklace from Petro's Jewelers, gift cards, overnight stays at local hotels, various gift baskets and a one-year membership to AAA, according to the Seasholtzes.
