UPMC in North Central Pa. recently honored more than 100 of its volunteers at its annual recognition luncheon at the Holiday Inn in Williamsport, the organization announced in a recent press release.
The movie award-themed celebration featured a red carpet as hospital leaders cheered on the dazzling volunteers while they donned red boas and top hats, the release said.
The event also featured a photo booth, games, raffles and a moment of silence for volunteers who've passed away in the last year, according to the release.
"Our volunteers are part of what make UPMC great," said Jackie Perchinski, manager, Volunteer Services, UPMC in North Central Pa. "Each year, hundreds of volunteers give their time by serving on the front lines in patient care areas, behind the scenes assembling patient information packets, greeting guests at the information desks, and countless other areas.
"They selflessly offer their time, talent and wisdom to enhance our shared mission of extending God's healing love at UPMC," she said.
