Free, educational programs at Tiadaghton State Forest

WATERVILLE — Tiadaghton State Forest has scheduled a variety of free, family-friendly, indoor and outdoor educational programs that will take place at numerous places in the district throughout the month of January.

Registration is required for some events by contacting Vinny Curtis at (570) 753-5409×132 or vicurtis@pa.gov.

The Tiadaghton Resource Management Center is located at 10 Lower Pine Bottom Road in Waterville.

Bird Feeding 101

Location: Tiadaghton Resource Management Center

In this first of a winter series of evening talks, join us for a presentation on feeding birds through the winter. For newbies and experienced bird feeders alike.

Learn what types of feeders and feeds you should use to attract what birds. We will also discuss predator protection as well as how to ID birds commonly found at home bird feeders. Registration required.

Wild about Teas

Location: Tiadaghton Resource Management Center

For thousands of years people across the globe have used their local plants to make teas for beverages and medicine. Join guest instructor Vince Curtis as he takes us on a trip around the globe to share the history and varieties of teas from the Far East to Latin America, to Africa and your own back yard. Registration required.

You will get to sample a variety of these freshly brewed teas throughout the program.
