The event will feature members of the Central Pennsylvania Observers, an amateur astronomy club (https://cpoclub.org/).
WALK THE NATURE TRAIL
WHERE: Hyner Run State Park
WHEN: Friday, Aug. 18
NOTES: At 3:30 p.m., people can join a naturalist for the Walk the Nature Trail program. There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail, as well as the history of the area.
There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines. Those interested should meet at the amphitheater.
INTRO TO FLY FISHING
WHERE: Little Pine State Park
WHEN: Saturday, Aug. 19
NOTES: Fly fishing can be a fun way to fish for the first time or it can present a new experience for seasoned anglers. Anyone, ages 12 years and older with an interest in learning the basics of fly fishing equipment, knot tying, casting techniques and on the water skills is welcome.
All equipment is provided. Those under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

WALK IN PENN'S
WOODS DAY
WHERE: Rider Park (1769 Caleb Creek Road in Trout Run)
WHEN: Sunday, Oct. 1
NOTES: Rider Park manager Sara Street will lead a forest health walk from 2-4 p.m. Meet at the main parking lot to learn about the health benefits of walking in nature while viewing the new vista overlooking the Loyalsock Creek.
We will walk approximately two miles and highlight a new 0.7 mile newly constructed trail that connects to the popular Doe Pen vista. Two vistas, a new trail, and forest health benefits.
