LYCOMING AUDUBON CHAPTER MEETING

WHERE: Taber Museum (858 West Fourth Street in Williamsport)

WHEN: Wednesday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.

NOTES: Join Lycoming Audubon for a program on the American Kestrel presented by Mercy Melo, PA Game Commission Biologist, from the Northcentral office. Program is free and open to the public.

ARBOR DAY TREE WALK IN DOWNTOWN

LEWISBURG

WHERE: Hufnagle Park in Lewisburg

WHEN: Friday, April 26 at 3 p.m.

NOTES: This is a family program and all ages are welcome. It is guest hosted by Dr. Chris Martine, David Burpee professor in plant genetics and research and biology chair at Bucknell and Sara Street, Rider Park manager of the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania and members of the Lewisburg Borough Shade Tree Commission.

Join Bucknell biology professor and certified tree expert Dr. Chris Martine on a stroll through downtown Lewisburg to visit and learn about some of the trees there. Parents are required to accompany children.

NATURE’S SPRING SONATO

WHERE: Little Pine State Park and Hyner Run State Park

WHEN: Saturday, April 27 at 4 p.m. (Hyner Run State Park) and 7 p.m. (Little Pine State Park)

NOTES: Join the naturalist for a relaxing evening to hear “Nature’s Spring Sonato.” Topics of discussion will center around what is being heard. This is designed to be an informal program.

All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.

LOYLAOSCK CREEK WATERSHED ASSOCIATION OPEN MEETING

WHERE: Plunketts Creek Volunteer Fire Hall-327 at 327 Dunwoody Road, Barbours

WHEN: Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m.

NOTES: This meeting is open to the public. There will be a presentation by Matt Kaunert, director of Lycoming College Clean Water Institute entitled “New Direction of CWI and Update of Hellbenders in Watershed.”

LITTLE BEAR CREEK YOUTH FISHING DEBRY

WHERE: Little Bear Creek

WHEN: Sunday, May 5 (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

NOTES: The annual Little Bear Creek Youth Fishing Derby is for kids age 4-12. There will be prizes for each age group (4-6, 6-8, 8-10 and 10-12) and every kid will receive a goodie bag.
