LYCOMING AUDUBON: RIDER PARK BLUEBIRD TRAIL

WHEN: Tuesdays, beginning May 14 at 8 a.m.
NOTES: Bird the Lycoming Audubon Bluebird Trail while monitoring nest boxes. Learn about the Bluebirds, their calls, nests, habitat, and how they raise their young. SEVEN MOUNTAIN’S AUDUBON EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

WHEN: Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m.
NOTES: Ian Adrian, formerly of the Susquehanna Valley, will talk about how to enjoy birds and other wildlife while respecting their activities and space. He is a noted wildlife photographer and will illustrate his talk with photos of many birds and animals.

LYCOMING AUDUBON: SKYLINE DRIVE
WHERE: Route 15 out of South Williamsport, pass Little League and climb Montgomery Pike to top of the mountain and park at the rest stop (no comfort facilities)
WHEN: Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for a bird walk along Syline Drive. The paved road is quite walkable, gently ascending the northeast slope of Bald Eagle Mountain. We expect to see and hear resident birds of a typical mixed Pennsylvania forest, including late-spring warblers. Towards the mountain top, tree species change and the vistas of the West Branch Valley are a treat. Program is free and open to the public.

LYCOMING AUDUBON: CHAPTER MEETING
WHERE: Taber Museum (858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport)
WHEN: Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
NOTES: Join Lycoming Audubon for a program on ruffed grouse and the American woodcock, presented by Reina Tyl, Pennsylvania Game Commission woodcock and grouse biologist. The program is free and open to the public. You can also attend virtually with Zoom using the link found at the LAS website at www.lycomingaudubon.org.
LYCOMING AUDUBON: STATE GAME LAND 252 BIRDING TOUR
WHERE: Meet at the parking lot just west of the Game Commission Crew Building. Detailed directions at the Lycoming Audubon Society website.
WHEN: Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m.
NOTES: Join Mercy Melo, Game Commission educator, to tour State Game Land 252, a birder’s paradise of habitat diversity. At this game land, habitat crews manage for grasslands, forests and early successional habitat while also boasting a great variety of wetlands, ponds and creeks giving birders a great opportunity to see quite a wide vareity of birds in Lycoming County.
