NOTES: Explore the Lycoming Audubon Bluebird Trail while monitoring nest boxes. You'll be able to learn about the bluebirds, their calls, nests, habitat and how they raise their young.

SMART FISHING
WHERE: Little Pine State Park
WHEN: Thursday, July 4 at 9:30 a.m.
NOTES: Have kids and want to introduce them to the sport of fishing? This "SMART Fishing" program at Little Pine State Park on Thursday, July 4 is geared toward teaching others to be responsible anglers.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.
Those interested in the program should meet at the boat launch of Little Pine Reservoir.
WORLD OF BATS
WHERE: Little Pine State Park and Hyner Run State Park
WHEN: Friday, July 5 at 8:15 p.m. (Hyner Run) and Saturday, July 6 at 8:30 p.m. (Little Pine)
NOTES: Come to Little Pine State Park and/or Hyner Run State Park to learn about the world of bats. This program will be focusing on some of the bats' adaptions, some myths about baths and a fungus that is threatening their population.
There will also be a bat count, weather permitting.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.
Those interested in the Little Pine program should meet at the amphitheater and those interested in the Hyner Run program should meet at the amphitheater by the pool.
SOLAR VIEWING
WHERE: Hyner Run State Park and Little Pine State Park
WHEN: Friday, July 5 at 3:30 p.m. (Hyner Run) and Saturday, July 6 at 3:30 p.m. (Little Pine)
NOTES: Join the naturalist at Little Pine State Park and/or Hyner Run State Park to do some solar viewing and learn things about the most well-known star in our solar system: the sun.
All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.
Those interested in the Little Pine program should meet at the main day use parking area. Those interested in the Hyner Run program should meet at the CCC statue.
BYO KAYAK PADDLE
WHERE: Little Pine State Park
WHEN: Friday, July 12 at 3:30 p.m.
NOTES: This program will be a brief introduction to kayaking as well as a tour of Little Pine Reservoir. The history of the area, as well as the flora and fauna, will be topics of discussion.
All participants are asked to bring their own kayaks (kayaks must have a PFBC boat registration or state park launch permit), a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket (and PFD) and whistle. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.
The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.
Those interested should eet at the boat launch.
FIREFLIES
WHERE: Little Pine State Park and Hyner Run State Park
WHEN: Friday, July 12 at 8:15 p.m. (Little Pine) and Saturday, July 13 at 8:15 p.m. (Hyner Run)
NOTES: Join the park naturalist and learn about fireflies and why they light up nature during this particular time of the year. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new community guidelines.
Anyone interested in the Little Pine program should meet at the contact station by the campground. Those interested in the Hyner Run program should meet at the amphitheater by the pool, and should bring a lawnchair.
HIKE THE NATURE TRAIL
WHERE: Hyner Run State Park
WHEN: Saturday, July 13 at 3:30 p.m.
NOTES: Join the natural to hike the nature trail at Hyner Run State Park. There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area.
There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines.
Those interested should meet at the amphitheater by the pool.
