PFBC hosting number of virtual programs in Dec.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has a number of upcoming virtual programs planned for December that people can partake in.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., the PFBC will be hosting a program with fishing skills instructor Don Kelley, owner of the Tackle Shack in Wellsboro, to learn the basics of ice fishing, alongside other women. Those who attend will get an invitation to attend an in-person women’s ice fishing program in January/February of 2025, with weather pending.

The virtual program covers ice safety, where to find fish in the winter with an introduction to habitat maps, basic ice fishing gear needed to get started, next-level ice fishing gear and how to use the ice fishing gear.

The program is conducted online and sessions will be interactive and include interaction with PFBC staff and fishing skills instructors.

A virtual introduction ot ice fishing is set for Saturday, Dec. 21 from 7-8:30 p.m. This program will prove ice anglers of all skill levels with the necessary information to have fun and a safe say on the ice. Registered participants will receive an email prior to this program with access and log-in information.

Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission virtual programs are offered statewide. Participants utilize their personal computers to virtually attend the program.
