THE BRIDGE
WHERE: River Walk on the North/Wegman’s side near the river dam.
WHEN: Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.
NOTES: Fifty-five years ago, Earth Day was initiated as a national expression of appreciation for Earth. Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for a bird walk on the River Walk. With signs and flags, we’ll walk across the Market Street Bridge. Thanks for adding your presence in this simple statement of celebration our beautiful planet.

CHAPTER MEETING
WHERE: Taber Museum at 858 W. Fourth Street in Williamsport
WHEN: Wednesday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for the program “Cranes of North America” presented by Quinn Brownell and the International Crane Foundation. We will learn about crane biology, investigate the current threats to North American crane survival and discover methods used to conserve members of the crane family, including some endangered speciies.

NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society at Rider Park to learn about the Lycoming Audubon Bluebird Trail and look for birds along Francis Kennedy and Meadow Trails. The porgram is free and open to the public.

JOY TO THE EARTH
WHERE: Selinsgrove Commons at 2. North Market Street (Selinsgrove)
WHEN: Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
NOTES: Children and adults alike can share the excitement at the fourth annual Joy to the Earth celebration in honor of Earth month. The Ssuquehanna Valley Chapter of Citizen’s Climate education hosts this free event on April 26 at the Selinsgrove Commons.
Those in attendance will enjoy live music, hands-on activities and critters from works to fish, educational exhibits and more.

WHEN: Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NOTES: Join an Earth Day celebration in the outdoors on Saturday, May 3 at Mill Cove Environmental Area. The event will feature an interactive environmental outdoor recreational experience and has music beginning at 2 p.m. The event is scheduled rain or shine.

MOSQUITO VALLEY
WHERE: Water Authority’s visitor parking lot on Mosquito Valley Road
WHEN: Saturday, May 3 at 8 a.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for a bird walk at the Williamsport Water Authority to enjoy forested trails and brushy habitat as the warbler migration is at its height. The location is a prime spot for hooded and blackburnian warblers, a well as hosting a variety of other species.

OHL/MCELHATTAN
RESERVOIR
WHERE: Meet at the Valero gas station at I-80 Exit 185 (PA Route 477) and then carpool/travel to the reservoir.
WHEN: Saturday, May 10 at 9 a.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for a bird walk at the Ohl/McElhattan Reservoir in Southern Clinton County to find waterfowl, warblers and raptors.

GLACIER POOLS
PRESERVE
WHERE: 757 Pine Tree Road in Hughesville
WHEN: Saturday, May 17 at 9 a.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society on a venture to the eastern portion of Lycoming County and walk the woods and fields of this unique 270 acre preserve. Woodpeckers and other forest specieis as well as migrating warblers should be found.
The trail is easy to moderate hiking. The porgram is free and open to the public. For more details, visit www.lycomingaudubon.org.
AUDUBON EVENT:
SKYLINE DRIVE
WHERE: Take Route 15 out of South Williamsport, pass Little League and climb Montgomery Pike to the top of the mountain and park at the rest stop (no comfort facilities).
WHEN: Saturday, May 17 at 9 a.m.
NOTES: Join the Lycoming Audubon Society for a bird walk along Skyline Drive. The paved road is quite walkable, gently ascendnign the northeast slope of Bald Eagle Mountain.
We expect to see and hear resident birds of a typical mixed PA forest, including late spring warblers. The vistas of the West Branch Valley are a treat.
