AUDUBON EVENT: CANFIELD ISLAND BIRDWALK

WHERE: Canfield Island (GPS address 2870 Greevey Road in Montoursville)

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m

NOTES: This will be an evening birdwalk at a local hotspot that offers the chance to see and hear a wide variety of species. This will be a leisurely and flat walk from the parking area, out to the fields and riverfrtont of the island. The mixed habitat of this location means that one never knows what you might find.

AUTUMN LEAVES

WHERE: Little Pine State Park

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m.

NOTES: Come to Little Pine State Park and enjoy looking at some of the different trees and autumn leaves, and learn what magic goes on for the leaves to change color.

This program is geared towards families with children.A ll children must be accompanied by an adult to participate.

The program may be modofied or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines. Those interested should meet at Pavilion No. 4 in the lower picnic area of Little Pine State Park.

CCC OF LITTLE PINE

WHERE: Little Pine State Park

WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.

NOTES: Join the park naturalist and learn about the CCC of Little Pine and about the work the Civilian Conservation Corps did in the 1930s and 1940s in the area, the culture in these camps and how it prepared some to be well-disciplined World War II veterans.

All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. The program may be modified or canceled in the event of severe weather or new state or community guidelines.
