An online virtual ice fishing program on Thursday, Jan. 8 from 7-9 p.m. is hosted by Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission staff and trained fishing skills instructors. Sessions will be interactive and include interaction with staff.
The program includes ice safety, where to find fish in the winter, basic ice fishing gear needed to get started, next level ice fishing gear and how to use the ice fishing gear.
All who participate in the virtual ice fishing program will receive invitations to attend in-person ice fishing programs in northern Pennsylvania, anda post-program email with online resources to assist in their ice fishing journey.

• A basic boating program is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Freedom Outfitters at 1658 Steel Way Dr. in Mount Joy. This certification course is a great way for the first-time boater or seasoned boater to learn all the basic boating regulations and requirements.
The classroom course has a ceritfication exam at the end. Participants 11 years of age and older wtih an interest in learning the basics of boating and earning a boating safety education certificate are welcome to attend.
Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• A fly fishing show will be upcocoming at the Lancaster County Convention Center at 3 E. Vine Street in Lancaster on Saturday, March 14 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday, March 15 (9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
No registration is required for this event.
