Vernal school day camps coming up for registration this summer

The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeping Association’s annual summer day camp programs for young learners are open for registration. With limited spaces available and growing popularity over the past couple summers, we anticipate they will fill quickly.

• Habitat Helpers, our preschool-aged program, is scheduled for four dates, each focusing on a different habitat. Activities, take-home projects and even the snacks are themed around the day’s habitat offering.

Sessions include June 3 (woodland), June 4 (grassland), June 10 (wetland) and June 11 (soils). Targeted age range for this group is 5-6 years old. Each day’s sessions run from 10am to noon.

• Camp Chillisquaque is designed for students ages 7-12 and will offer five days, all offering the same program with a different group of participants each day. The topic this year will be focused on offering a “Voice for the Vulnerable,” learning about key sensitive species (including those listed as endangered and threatened in our state) and how to better protect and advocate for them.

Program days will include July 1, 2, 8, 9 and 15.

These programs are free, but donations are strongly encouraged to help offset cost and help create future opportunities for additional programs like this.

More information about registration and more can be found at the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeping Association’s webpage.

Starting at $2.99/week.
