Trout season is almost upon us, and I, for one, cannot wait. It’s been a long winter with little chance to get on the water, and my fishing addiction needs a fix. The Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited invites everyone who might be wondering how to get started fly fishing in northcentral Pennsylvania to a special program hosted by our local Trout Unlimited members. HARRISBURG – A bill to restore Pennsylvania’s traditional opening day of statewide firearms deer season to the first Monday after Thanksgiving will soon be introduced, according to Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) and Sen. Lisa Boscola (D-18), sponsors of the measure. For more than 50 years, the first Monday after Thanksgiving marked the start of rifle season in Pennsylvania. Back when the television weatherperson was predicting the January snowstorm he stated that our area was to expect about a foot of snow. While the flakes were falling, PennDOT was announcing on the news what the cost of snow removal, from our roads and highways, would be.
