Susquehanna TU offering fly tying course soon

The Susquehanna Chapter of Trout Unlimited is pleased to announce it will be offering a beginner’s fly tying course on Tuesday evenings, beginning on Jan. 20, 2026 and running through Feb. 24, 2026. The course will be taught by Rick Kintzer. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for youth under the age of 18 who must be at least 12 years old to participate and must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult throughout each session. The public is invited to a meeting of the Trout Unlimited Susquehanna Chapter featuring local underwater and nature photographer Michael Kinney. He will use a combination of visuals, sounds and stories to take us on a journey from mountain headwaters, down through the watershed into the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and beyond. Through the years, I have received many requests from hunters to score their antlers for the Boone and Crocket Club’s record book. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is inviting residents and visitors to begin the new year outdoors by participating in more than 60 free, guided First Day Hikes taking place across Pennsylvania on New Year’s Day on Thursday as part of the nationwide First Day Hike initiative.
