West Branch fisheries topics to be discussed at meeting on Nov. 12

The public is invited to a meeting of the Trout Unlimited Susquehanna Chapter featuring PA Fish and Boat Commission Warm Water Unit Leader Geoff Smith, Area 3 Fisheries Manager Jason Detar and Susquehanna River Biologist Garrett Kratina. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Lycoming College Heim Biology and Chemistry building, Room G11. Eureka violation for not complying with 30-day cleanup order ‘remains outstanding’

​Eureka Resources started removing wastewater from its Second Street, Williamsport, site on Monday, Oct. 27, according to Dustan Karschner, Environmental Protection Specialist with the Department of Environmental Protection. According to his inspection report, Karschner had stopped in for a follow-up inspection of the site to find out that three truck loads of fracking waste water were departing that morning for disposal with a total of up to six truckloads per day planned to be removed moving forward, transporting the wastewater to Kleese Disposal in Ohio, which is a permitted ...
