Crunch time approaching for Williamsport Area School District construction projects

With the summer break over half over, the Williamsport Area School District is looking ahead to the new school year which begins on Aug. 31 for students in grades 1-9 and Sept. 1 for those at the high school level. No one is keeping track of that time table more than Dale Crans, supervisor of maintenance and facilities in the district, who is overseeing the construction projects at the STA stadium and tennis courts. Montoursville Walmart evacuated

The Walmart located at 1015 N. Loyalsock Ave. in Montoursville, was evacuated shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday what has initially been deemed a “fire-related” incident. At about 3:40 p.m., a command post was set up in the parking lot near Subway across from the entrance, according to scanner reports. Employees say they were told to evacuate when a threat was called in.
