Nippenose Township volunteer firefighters faced a large fire late Thursday night when they arrived at an Amish farm to find a two-story workshop ablaze at 1682 Quarry Road in Limestone Township, according to Fire Chief Dean Miller.
It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to get the bulk the fire knocked down. It was believed the fire started around a wood burner inside the structure, Miller said. There were no reports of injuries.
Firefighters from several surrounding communities assisted in putting out the fire. The structure was a total loss, but by Sunday, members of the Amish community had cleared the fire ruins and were already putting up another structure, which was expected to be in full operation by the end of the week, Miller said.
