Woman arraigned on loitering charges
Chy Ann McCormick, 46, of Williamsport, allegedly knocked on the door of a Memorial Avenue property while intoxicated, causing a loud disturbance at around 10 p.m.
Dec. 12, according to city police. Officer Christopher Salisbury wrote in an affidavit that allegedly, McCormick would not leave the resident's porch and that she smelled of alcohol, slurred her speech and could not walk.
McCormick was arraigned by Judge Aaron Biichle later that night on charges related defiant trespassing, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness. She is being held in the Lycoming County Prison with bail set to $12,000 and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 17.
Man allegedly stole items during argument
Sol Rodriguez, 45, of 628 Hiller Road, Apartment 1, allegedly stole a female's phone and keys to prevent her from leaving that residence and calling the police during an argument on Dec. 12 at around 10 p.m., state police allege.
Trooper Peter Dunchick said police received a call from the woman at Rodriguez's neighbor's house after she escaped. Rodriguez allegedly resisted arrest and attempted to flee.
Rodriguez was arraigned by Biichle for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment. Rodriguez is being held on $25,000 bail, and will appear for a preliminary hearing before Judge Gary Whiteman Dec. 21.
City man found drinking in parking lot
Jeffrey Paulhamus, 39, of 1622 W. Fourth Street, was found allegedly drinking beer in his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of Sheetz the morning of Sept. 18, according to state police. Trooper Logan Webb alleged in an affidavit he smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Paulhamus' vehicle, and said he saw two opened and one unopened 16 ounce can of beer, in addition to half of a bottle of vodka while the keys were in the ignition.
After Paulhamus allegedly refused sobriety and breath tests, Webb took him to UPMC Williamsport, where Paulhamus allegedly made "unreasonable" noise and used obscene language.
Paulhamus is charged with driving under the influence and disorderly conduct. He waived his preliminary hearing before Whiteman, and is out on bail set to $5,000.
Man allegedly stopped with heroin in pockets
Aaron Haefner, 45, of 1413 Scott Street, was allegedly carrying 7 blue waxen baggies of heroin when a state trooper pulled over his 2000 Red Ford Taurus on Northway road May 8 at 4:30 p.m. Haefner is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Haefner waived his preliminary hearing and is scheduled to appear for a formal arraignment before Judge Marc Lovecchio Jan. 4.
West Virginian charged with DUI
Patrick Hill, 50, of West Virginia, waived his preliminary hearing in relation to charges filed concerning driving under the influence. According to Seth Stropp, a South Williamsport Police Officer, Hill, in his black BMW sedan, made an improper left-hand turn onto Mountain Avenue from the right turn lane on South Market Street. Stropp alleged that Hill was slurring speech and had glassy eyes. Stropp also said Hill admitted to drinking two beers with dinner and another afterward. Hill's BAC was allegedly 0.164 when he was tested at UPMC Susquehanna, leading to him being charged with driving under the influence. Hill waived a preliminary hearing and will appear before Lovecchio for a formal arraignment Jan. 4.
Woman accused of shoplifting at WalMart
Sharon Isabella Trulock, 23, of 639 Dutchtown Road, Muncy, is accused of shoplifting at the Montoursville WalMart Oct. 5 at 1:20 p.m.
Trulock attempted to remove $479.40 worth of items by passing the point of sale, according to Montoursville police. According to the affidavit filed by officer Marc Storms, cameras observed Trulock enter the bathroom with a shopping cart full of items, and leave with the items inside WalMart plastic bags. After she had left the bathroom, Trulock allegedly began placing more items in the bags and the backpack, and was also observed with several toys not in bags.
Trulock is charged with retail theft, and waived her preliminary hearing. She will appear before Lovecchio Jan. 4 for a formal arraignment.
3 charged for alleged marijuana garden
A South Williamsport trio have been released on bail after being arraigned on charges related to allegedly growing and selling marijuana.
Dylan Day, 37; Keith Day, 72; and Linda Day, 69; of 234 W. Village Drive, South Williamsport, were caught when members of the Lycoming County Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) responded to a tip alleging marijuana was being grown on the second floor of the house.
Keith allowed detectives inside on Dec. 11. Detectives alleged they smelled raw marijuana inside the home. According to members of the NEU, Dylan became agitated at the presence of the detectives.
Detectives allege Dylan Day admitted to smoking marijuana as a form of medication, and that he has it inside the home for that purpose. The affidavit said Dylan did not have a medical marijuana card, and that he was in the process of obtaining one.
Dylan walked into the kitchen after one of the detectives told him not to, so the detective began to detain Dylan, who allegedly resisted, leading to a several-minute struggle. During the struggle, Linda began screaming at the detectives.
"Linda Day's screaming had a negative effect on the detective's ability to arrest Dylan with only verbal commands and Dylan's level of resistance increased with Linda's screaming," the affidavit alleged.
Afterward, the NEU searched the house, and allege they found five juvenile marijuana plants around 2 feet tall, 2.4 pounds of combined marijuana located within the home in plastic bags and mason jars, 5.34 grams of phencyclidine mushrooms, in-home growing tents, temperature control items, and thousands of U.S. dollars.
According to the affidavit, Dylan told the NEU during a recorded interview he has been growing marijuana for around two years at the Village Drive home, that he provides marijuana to other people and that he has the proceeds of those sales in U.S. dollars.
The affidavit said Keith and Linda both acknowledged Dylan was growing marijuana in the house. Keith allegedly said this has caused some strife because the electric bill has increased. He alleged that he and Linda have received money from Dylan to pay bills.
Keith was charged with criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Linda was charged with criminal conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and disorderly conduct. Dylan was charged with criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver marijuana; criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver phencyclidine mushrooms; and resisting arrest.
The trio were arraigned before Judge Aaron Biichle Dec. 11, who let them walk with bail set to $25,000. They will appear before Judge William Solomon Dec. 23 at 1:45 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
Woman faces firearm-sale violation
Alma Force, 45, of 256 Stryker Ave., Montgomery, faces a misdemeanor charge of duty of other person after a state trooper discovered in her bedroom a firearm that had been sold to her illegally, according to court records filed at Judge Jon Kemp's office.
Police allege she had a handgun that she said she purchased "several years ago" from a nephew for $100.
Police were called to Force's home in Clinton Township on Aug. 31 by state parole officers, who were already on the scene investigating Brett Reynolds for parole violations, court records stated.
Multiple firearms were discovered in the home, including the handgun Force said she bought from the nephew. When investigators ran a sale inquiry, they confirmed that Force was not the original person to own the firearm.
"The firearm was sold between two parties in the absence of a licensed person," the trooper said. Force is free on $5,000 bail.
