Eastbound traffic out of Williamsport was slow-going during rush hour late Tuesday afternoon after nearly 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 180 in Loyalsock Township, prompting the closing of both eastbound lanes for at least two hours. The spill came from this rig after it and a car collided near the Faxon interchange on-ramp, rupturing the truck tractor's diesel tank, fire officials said. The truck traveled about quarter mile, leaving a lengthy trail of fuel along the way, fire officials said. The driver of the car was taken to UPMC Williamport to be treated for minor injuries. A special hazardous materials team was on its way to the scene to help with the cleanup.
