City man allegedly stabs coworker driving vehicle
Kevin Blunt, 35, of 46 Washington Blvd., allegedly stabbed a coworker in the abdomen during a verbal argument in a moving vehicle June 13, according to city police.
A verbal argument broke out between the victim, who drove the vehicle, and Blunt, police said. Blunt allegedly drew a knife from his "right-back" area and began stabbing the victim in the abdomen, city police agent Aaron Levan said.
The alleged victim exited the vehicle, which was still traveling on Market Street, while exclaiming Blunt had stabbed them. Meanwhile, Blunt exited the scene and fled north on Market Street in possession of the knife.
Biichle arraigned Blunt on charges of aggravated assault, possessing instruments of crime and simple assault. Biichle set bail to $175,000, and Blunt remains in the Lycoming County Prison until his preliminary hearing June 24.
City man allegedly collided with parked vehicle while intoxicated
Benjamin Breen, 46, of 2403 Edercrest Road, allegedly admitted to consuming "a few beers" from inside the ambulance at the scene of a vehicle crash the night of Feb. 28, according to city police.
Breen allegedly drove his 2021 A7 Audi into the rear of a legally parked Subaru, at which point Breen's Audi turned clockwise and continued northbound to hit the rear of the alleged victim's Honda CR-V, according to city patrol officer Thomas Bortz.
Breen allegedly failed standard field sobriety tests, and blood tests showed he had a BAC of .241.
Biichle arraigned Breen on charges of DUI, DUI at the highest rate of alcohol and careless driving. Biichle released Breen on $5,000 bail, and Breen is scheduled to appear before him June 24 for a preliminary hearing.
City man allegedly steals tank tops
Malcolm Duncan, 65, of 643 Elmira Street, allegedly walked out of the Family Dollar at 328 Memorial Ave. with several white tank tops stuffed down his pants the night of June 8, according to city police.
When police caught up with Duncan after the alleged robbery, valued at $20, he also allegedly had a crack pipe on his person, according to officer Nicholas Carrita.
District Judge Jerry Lepley arraigned Duncan on charges of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lepley initially set bail to $7,500, but District Judge Aaron Biichle released him on bail.
Two charged in alleged drug deal
Joshua Bryan, 30, of 1658 Market St., allegedly sold $10 worth of marijuana to Heather Crispin, 46, of 1501 Lafayette Parkway, according to a county Narcotics Enforcement Unit detective back in January.
Bryan allegedly agreed to speak to detectives and admitted he sold Crispin a "dime bag" of marijuana at the rear of 1658 Market St. the afternoon of Jan. 13.
Detectives had arrested Crispin, who allegedly purchased the marijuana, during a traffic stop, where they retrieved drug paraphernalia and the aforementioned "dime bag" from her.
Later, detectives obtained a search warrant for Crispin's 2007 silver Nissan Altima and found 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, a straw piece with residue and a purple bag with various marijuana paraphernalia.
District Judge Gary Whiteman arraigned Bryan for delivering marijuana and set bail to $15,000. Meanwhile, he arraigned Crispin on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and set her bail to $10,000.
On June 17, during their preliminary hearings before Biichle, Bryan and Crispin were let out on supervised bail. Both will appear before Lycoming County Judge Marc Lovecchio July 12 for a formal arraignment.
Man charged for allegedly selling methamphetamine
Francis Beaghley, 46, of 328 Brandon Ave., allegedly sold $300 worth of crystal methamphetamine to a state police confidential informant the afternoon of Feb. 25, according to state police.
The Pennsylvania State Police Wyoming Laboratory later confirmed the substance consisted of 2.11 grams of methamphetamine.
Beaghley was arraigned on one charge of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.
City man charged for drunk and disorderly conduct
Stephen Powell, 54, of Williamsport, is being charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and scattering rubbish after incidents that occurred between June 13 and 14, according to city police.
City officer Ryan Brague allegedly saw Powell stumble into the road in front of stopped traffic. Powell allegedly drank from a beer can before throwing it onto the ground at the intersection of Market and West Third streets.
Powell also allegedly yelled at patrons entering a business earlier in the night, totaling three incidents with city police before his arrest.
Powell is scheduled for a formal arraignment before Lovecchio July 12.
