Former employee charged with trespassing
On Aug. 10, Kayleigh Gomber, 36, of 924 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, was arrested by Lycoming Regional Police after she allegedly returned to her former workplace, a Lycoming County restaurant, despite being fired on Aug. 7 and told to stay off the property.
The restaurant's owner, Gene Feerar stated that he had arranged a time for Gomber to retrieve her items and return her keys, however when he had to cancel, telling her that he would not be able to meet that week, he did not receive a response, according to court documents.
When a cook arrived at work on Aug. 10, he found Gomber inside the restaurant, dressed in all black, with her car parked in a manner that it would not be seen, police allege.
Feerar immediately sent his property manager to tell Gomber to leave, to which Gomber allegedly responded "I will leave once I get my items," she then retrieved several items that were hidden from management, and left, an affidavit said.
During questioning, Gomber admitted to entering the restaurant using her work keys and removing her items. She further stated that she had had numerous issues with the owner, and avoiding contact with him was for the best. She added that she had left the keys at the restaurant when exiting.
She was charged with criminal trespass, waived her preliminary hearing, and was released on $15,000 bail.
South Williamsport man allegedly steals ex-wife's car
At 3:45 a.m. on Sept. 10, Derek Hart, 38, of 1186 W. Mountain Ave., South Williamsport, was arrested by state police after he allegedly stole his ex-wife's 2009 Nissan Rogue.
As Hart and his ex-wife, Alisha Hart, were driving home from a restaurant, a verbal argument erupted at which time Alisha Hart pulled to the side of the road and exited the vehicle to allow the situation to calm down, she told police, according to an affidavit.
At that time, Derek Hart got into the driver's seat and drove away with the vehicle, leaving Alisha Hart without any personal effects. She related that she had to walk to Sheetz in Linden in order to call police, court documents state.
Derek Hart's license is currently suspended due to DUI, court documents show.
As her cell phone was still in the vehicle, Alisha Hart gave police consent to ping the location of her phone and therefore, her vehicle, leading them to 1416 Bloomingrove Road in Loyalsock Township.
Derek Hart was not at the location of the vehicle, however two open beer containers were visible, police allege.
Derek Hart was charged with theft by unlawful taking, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and three summary offenses, and was released on $25,000 bail.
Renovo woman arrested for passing bad checks
On Oct. 17, Mary Mansfield, 49, of Renovo, was arrested by Lycoming Regional Police, after she allegedly passed several bad checks at a business in Jersey Shore.
In the summer of 2022, the alleged victim began doing business with Tilda's Restaurant, of Renovo, where Mansfield was the point of contact. On two separate occasions, Mansfield allegedly passed checks that were returned for insufficient funds, one in the amount of $525.05 and the other for $1,258.95, according to an affidavit.
Additionally, on Sept. 28, Mansfield convinced a delivery driver that she did not have to pay for the $2,485.22 at the time of delivery, contrary to a cash-on-delivery agreement Mansfield had made with the supplier, police allege.
When the owner of the supplier visited her place of business, Mansfield assured him that she would be receiving a $10,000 settlement from which the payment would be made. However, when he returned to the business, the restaurant had shut down, court documents state.
The supplier has been unable to reach Mansfield since, including through a certified letter, and related that he is at a loss of $4,508.32 due to returned check fees and product Mansfield failed to pay for.
Mansfield was charged with theft by deception and passing bad checks and waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $15,000 bail.
Woman arrested for vandalism, passing bad checks
At 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 18, Lindsey Bliss, 38, was arrested after she allegedly vandalized a truck belonging to Robert Eckard, of 3421 Lycoming Creek Road.
Bliss allegedly ripped wires out of the truck's engine, then poured gasoline on the engine while smoking a cigarette and threatening to blow it up, police said.
Upon making contact with Bliss, she ignored officer's orders to stop, additionally resisting arrest, including striking an officer with her elbow, stating that it would take all of them to put her in handcuffs, according to an affidavit.
During a search, a methamphetamine pipe was found on Bliss.
Bliss was charged with recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
Bliss previously faced charges, just days prior on Oct. 14, of receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking after she allegedly stole a Blink surveillance camera from a residence in Lycoming Township.
